Inclusive leadership and civic participation are essential to gender equity, as AGYW and young people are often excluded from decision-making spaces that shape their lives and communities.
Harmful social norms, unequal power dynamics, and limited access to opportunities can restrict voice, confidence, representation, and participation. This exclusion limits the ability of AGYW and young people to influence change, advocate for their rights, and contribute meaningfully to community development.
Our work focuses on strengthening youth leadership, civic voice, advocacy, and participation by creating opportunities for engagement, dialogue, mentorship, and collective action. Through participatory and youth-led approaches including peer-led engagement, community dialogue, safe spaces, Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC), and theatre for social change, we support AGYW and young people to build confidence, strengthen communication and advocacy skills, and actively participate in community and civic processes.
